RE: Rockwood Ultra Light 8317SS Issues??

We have a Rockwood 8296ss and have had the bathroom leaks, which some caulking fixed, the concertone monitor was replaced unsuccessfully twice, so the dealer replaced the monitor with a flat screen tv, which was fine with us, no problems on the slide to date,,

RE: Wildwood quality

We also have a forest river TT, the quality could be better , we previously had an older model TT,,different brand, and it was much better quality than what we have now, we have had several leaks throughout, stereo system/tv monitor is a nightmare, and the last time we were up at camp, the converter was making some odd surging noises, so we will see what develops there, I love the lay out of the TT, so I am hoping that once these are fixed that will all be in the past and it will be happy camping from here on out, Dont believe its just FR, I think all things are made much cheaper and thrown together much faster with everything we buy.Best of luck with whatever you purchase

RE: Locked out....

We also have been in the same situation, only ours happened when we were opening up for the season, get everything out of the truck, uncover the TT, and hubby and I look at each other, ( you all know that look,,,like well, you must have the keys,,) sure enough, no where to be found, so we too, had to jimmy the compartment lock under the bunks, and I was the one nominated to crawl through and unlock the door,,,they sure could make those openings a bit larger now couldnt they...We have been in the campground for a few seasons, so of course, we had an audience...hey, thats what its all about, helping when you can, and watching and laughing when you cant...but not laughing to hard, cause you know that as soon as you do, you will be the next one they are laughing at,,,so from now on, extra set stays on the lot..

RE: rocking

we have also noticed considerably more rocking with our longer TT, we are limited to degree because of the enclosed underbelly, do you who have the same setup still use the rotochoks that have been mentioned in this topic, or do you have any other ideas, we are still fairly new to the camping scene so we are always on here looking for ideas and help, thanks

RE: Concertone TV

we also have had some problems with our concertone, when we got the disconnector message, we found out that not only was the monitor bad, but the actual antenna head was also bad, after replacing both, we have a beautiful picture, we did just go with a regular flat screen digital tv instead of the monitor, ours went out just like you had mentioned yours did, dealer checked the monitor, gave us a new one, it lasted two weekends and then they just replaced it with the regular tv,,much nicer..good luck

RE: anyone else's weekend plans washed out?

we had a beautiful weekend weather wise,,however, grandson took ill and ended up at childrens hospital, all is well now, so we are keeping our fingers crossed for this weekend, sorry to hear that many of you had so much rain, but we still make the best of it and go on..

leaky shower surround

Has anyone had any problems with the tub surround leaking on their units? We dont think there is a crack, we were wondering if it may be leaking in between the glass and the rubber seal that surrounds it, We tried caulking all around the bottom where the actual door frame sits on the tub and it still leaks, there is evidence that it is getting under the metal framing and we werent sure whether you could actually caulk around the entire rubber seal that the glass sits in or not.I remember reading somewhere that they said not to caulk certain areas in the enclosure, but we dont know what else to do. It leaks enough that it runs onto the floor in a fairly good puddle and I want to get it corrected before we run into other problems..any advice is appreciated.

RE: slide out wintering

slide out wintering

I was just talking with a friend of mine about some camping tips and she asked me if we pull in our tip out for the winter and I said that we do..She told me that alot of campers where she is camped have quit pulling in their units and are now leaving them out for the winter. She said that she was told that it had something to do with the seals...Could I have your thoughts on this issue, I must say, I am a bit skeptical, we are in the east and the snow is a factor..

RE: 2008 Flagstaff Concertone Issues

we are also having problems with our concertone system, this will be the second monitor that has to be replaced in less then 2 months time, these units are poorly designed Our dealer said that if the second one goes bad, they will just replace it with a tv, so we will see, I actually am going today to see what happens,,used the system over the weekend and the monitor smelled as though it just fried,,this is such a poor design, and after all the replacements, what happens in 2009 when everything goes digital,, is thist system just analog? Do know that they have some major complaints with that whole setup hopefully they'll replace ours with a new tv and not another monitor..find out today

RE: counter top edge trim coming apart

Yes Earl you are correct, that is exactly what is happening, one piece is totally off, will others are showing signs of getting loose , and I would hate to have to take all of them completely off, I will try the liquid nail on some and I do have some contact cement also that I will use for the the one piece that is all of the way off, which is the one piece that is on the extra shelf that attaches to a strip for outside shelving and the other problem spots are basically here and there throughout,,thanks for all your help folks I will be sure and post our results.

counter top edge trim coming apart

We are having trouble with the front edging coming apart on our countertops. The front edge of the counter top itself has a groove in it and the trim has a lip on it that would fit into that groove. All of them are loose and I was wondering if anyone has repaired anything like this..Didnt know whether carpenters glue would work of if anyone could suggest another product. I would appreciate your help.. I hope that I am explaining it to where you can understand, thanks

carpet or linoleum question also

I was reading the topic about carpet and linoleum and have another question, many of you stated that you have linoleum on the slide out also. When we questioned the dealer about replacing our carpet with linoleum, he told us that it wasnt a good idea because the slide would most likely tear the vinyl when it was going in and out,,have any of you had any problems with this, or was he not correct in his answer, We would love to take all of the carpet out of the living room area but were hesitate to do so..we are also on a permanent site, so it would only be getting pulled in and out on opening and closing..thanks for your info on this subject

RE: Campers are the nicest people

Now thats what camping is all about,,we have all been there before in one situation or another,,campers are the greatest..as you said,,all you have to do is ask, and someone,,usually more than one, will gladly give a hand..most all campers are eager to lend a hand to help someone in need,,they are a fine group of people..
